Cake Sale for Children in Need 2014

FullSizeRenderThank you to all those who came along to Jennings Funeral Directors, High Street, Wednesfield on Wed 12th November 2014 to help our fundraising day in aid of Children In Need.

Henna Singh and Sara Weston organised the event on behalf of Jennings, Sarah said “Henna and myself decided that we wanted to do something to raise money for Children in Need, after looking at the fundraising ideas and that the theme this year was to be a hero we decided to be cake baking heros.

We chose our day during the week and when the market was on in Wednesfield village to run the event. I asked my husband who is the baker in the family to produce some cakes, which he did making over 80 cakes, others were donated to us by family members and made by ourselves.

On the day we had a fantastic time, we started the event at 10.00am and finished at 2.00pm at which point we had sold all the cakes that we had. We decorated the window in the premises and put the cakes on display so everyone could see them. It was a little slow at first, due to the rain and wind, but it cleared up as the morning went on. After a while we decided to take the cakes and stand outside the premises offering them to people for a donation. Everyone was very friendly and thought that what we were doing was a very worthwhile thing. We raised a grand total of £116.31p by the time the event had finished.

Henna and myself are both now looking forward to our next charity event.”
